"Assertiveness"

“Is This You?”

“I want to communicate more confidently.”

“I want to be able to say and achieve what I want, as well as listening to what everyone else wants.”

“I don’t want to upset people.”

“I want to stay in control in difficult situations.”

“I want people to respect me.”

“I don’t want to give in all the time”

“If So This Course Is For You!”

We all experience situations where we wish we had been more assertive in order to achieve our goals, whilst considering the needs of others.

There are other times when we feel that we gave in too easily or were too pushy. We may ask ourselves…

“What made us behave like this?”

“How can I do things differently to achieve my goal and also to feel good about myself?”

“What Will You Gain From This Course?”

By the end of the day you will have:

  • Defined what it means to be assertive.
  • Explored the difference between assertive, aggressive and submissive/ passive language and behaviour.
  • Understood some of the reasons why we behave the way we do.
  • Considered the importance of rights and responsibilities in assertive behaviour.

This will include tools such as negotiation and broken record.
